Ridgeline Video Communications Creative Director Rick VanGrouw has been creating promotional, event, training and educational videos since 2009 — first in a corporate communications setting, then as Ridgeline since 2012. From concept to script, from storyboard to live shots, from post-production to presentation, Ridgeline helps each client deliver a clear and compelling message to its intended audience. Videos can also be used internally for employee education or executive messaging, among other applications.


BOWERMAN BLUEBERRIES

60-second video promoting Bowerman You-Pick Blueberries and their annual Harvest Festival. Video features a combination of terrestrial and aerial footage.


TROIS VIGNES

Promotional video for a private party to sell this gorgeous 64-foot sailing yacht. Aerials shot in Lake Michigan near the mouth of Holland Harbor. Created in cooperation with Junebug Photography.


 SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Short video for Harbor Health and Massage to promote Small Business Saturday 2017 in cooperation with the West Coast Chamber of Commerce.


 GVSU Police Academy

90-second promotional video for the police academy at Grand Valley State University, used on the academy’s website. Ridgeline also produced a longer version for use at trade shows and recruiting events.


 Nestlings Diaper Bank – 500K

Video to celebrate and promote the distribution of 500,000 diapers by a charity in greater Holland and West Michigan.


 Butterball Farms – Capabilities 2017 (full length)

Promotional and educational video for leading butter company based in Grand Rapids, MI. Used internally and externally at trade group presentations and for general client/consumer education. Video features script by Ridgeline Video Communications and professional voiceover talent, as well as Ridgeline interviews, video footage, and still images.


HOPE COLLEGE MELLON SCHOLARS PROGRAM – FIVE YEARS

A five-year retrospective of the Hope College Mellon Scholars Program, an honors curriculum at Hope College in Holland Michigan. Features interviews with students, faculty and administrators as well as B-roll and file footage.


Greater Ottawa County United Way – Celebration Reveal

Short-deadline video produced as part of United Way’s annual Celebration event to reveal amount of funds raised during completed fundraising season. Featured kids at local Boys & Girls Club.


Camp Sunshine – Counselors

One of three promotional/educational videos for special needs summer camp, this one to recruit camp counselors. Shot on location and includes interviewers with counselors as well as B-roll of campers.


Holland Symphony – Three Words

Spontaneous interviews with concert goers resulted in this fun montage framed by one entertaining couple.


Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance – Know More Art

Committee campaign to increase awareness of and participation in the arts. Video debuted at summer concert of the Holland Symphony Orchestra.


Resthaven – Five Standards

Internal education campaign. Client provided soundtrack.


Blendon Group – What Is Business Development?

Don Beery, Principal at Blendon Group consulting, delivered a live presentation titled “What Is Business Development?” The finished product is 3:33 from a keynote-length presentation. Don uses the video in meetings with prospective clients.


Spectrum Health System – One Piece of Advice

This video was part of a multiple-video series produced for Betty Ford Breast Care Services at Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion in Grand Rapids. The series was part of a Breast Cancer Awareness Month promotion. The other videos feature Betty Ford and each of the physicians and nurse navigators who appear in this video: Loril Garrett, Amy VanVugt, Dr. Marianne Melnik and Dr. Amy Vander Woude.


Spectrum Health System – Expressive Arts Program

Describes expressive arts program, including interviews with patients, family and Spectrum Health staff.


Spectrum Health System – Art Prize Workshop and Exhibit

Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion at Spectrum Health sponsored an ArtPrize installation on behalf of its patients and families. The first of these two videos was produced to inspire people to participate in an upcoming creative workshop; the second describes the ArtPrize installation when it was complete.


President Ford Field Service Council – Boy Scouts Event Promotion

A 60-second spot to promote the 2012 Building Character Celebration, an annual gala to recognize the previous year’s class of Eagle Scout award recipients. Included clips and stills from a variety of formats.


Spectrum Health System – Farmers Market Promotion

Our client used a handheld video camera to shoot footage of a farmers market the client established for employees and the community. We then edited the footage provided into the finished product.


Spectrum Health System – ¡A Moverse!

This was part of a series of Spanish-language videos we wrote, directed and produced for Pograma Puente Latino Network. The videos encourage exercise and emphasize no- and low-cost exercise tools and techniques.


Spectrum Health System – Green Roof Installation

This video shows how — and why — a Grand Rapids hospital installed a vegetated roof using local growers and landscapers as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability. The video took a took more than a year to produce from the time workers planted seedlings to the installation of the live roof.
